How to Change the Blade Depth on the Roland GS-24 Cutter

View all digital artwork help articles / videos

It is important that not only the blade, force, offset and speed be configured properly, but that the blade itself is set to the correct depth.  Blade depth is the amount of blade exposed from the blade holder.  Too much or too little blade depth will negatively affect the quality of the cut.

To change the blade depth, first remove the blade holder from the machine.  The blade depth can then be increased or decreased by spinning the top knob clockwise or counterclockwise.  The blade depth should be about 2 millimeters, which is essentially the thickness of two credit cards being pressed together.  Once the blade depth has been set, the blade holder can be loaded back into the machine and is ready for cutting.
